THE ENGLISH HOME – New Years Honours – Fyning Lighting Collection
We are delighted to share that Studio Atkinson has been recognised in The English Home’s New Year Honours 2026 for our Fyning Lighting Collection. Fyning was our first decorative lighting collection, and from the outset we wanted to create pieces that feel truly special — pieces that draw the eye and stop you in your tracks as you wonder by. The collection was inspired by an antique pendant discovered at a market in France. While very intricate and decorative, we chose to pare the design back, refining its form whilst preserving its elegance and individuality. Each piece carries a gentle sense of nostalgia, with an antique brass interior that casts a soft, atmospheric glow. The lights sit beautifully in a variety of settings — above a dining table, within a window reveal, in an entrance hall to make an impact, or bringing warmth and interest to a darker corner. As with all of our lighting, the collection is exquisitely made in England by skilled artisans and is available in a range of colours and sizes. After more than a year in development, we are incredibly proud of the result, and very grateful to The English Home for this recognition.

We are thrilled to announce that Studio Atkinson has been awarded Best UK Residential Project by Homes & Gardens for 2025, for our Chelsea Barracks Penthouse project. This project felt quite different to our usual work as Chelsea Barracks is a newly built development and therefore didn’t have the traditional interior architecture that we’re more used to working with. The penthouse is vast, and so our focus was to soften the interior, introduce warmth and interest, and ultimately make it feel more homely. It was important to create a series of zones to make it feel more cossetting and considered, rather than open and impersonal. When we first began, the rooms felt quite simple and bare, and so we wanted to introduce lots of patterns, textural fabrics, antiques and layered elements to give the space depth and a sense of evolution over time. The rooftop garden, which wraps around the entirety of the apartment, also became an extension of that thinking. We divided it into distinct areas - a herb garden off the kitchen, a dining and entertaining space centered around the incredible outdoor bar, and a secluded wellness area with a sauna and ice bath that overlooks the rooftops towards central London. It was a hugely collaborative effort from the team, and we’re hugely grateful to Homes & Gardens for the recognition.
